The biggest question you need to ask when looking at an Anchorage home or condominium on Open House is WHO REPRESENTS the Seller.  Better yet WHO REPRESENTS YOU!!  

The Real Estate Commission with the State of Alaska, requires a Real Estate Licensee s to disclose our agency relationship, except when we are doing an open house.  Remember to put on your poker face when visiting open houses.  It may make a large difference in the negotiations and the price you end up paying for an Anchorage home or condominium.  The State of Alaska says as Alaska real estate Licensees we can list a property for sale and be Neutral in the transaction, while representing both the Anchorage Buyer and Seller.  In some instances the Licensee might be a friend of the Seller or represented him when he bought the Anchorage home or condominium.  These type of situations make it tough to be "Neutral", because everyone is competitive to some degree.  In sporting events each team has a coach, so have your own representation as a buyer.  There is no additional cost.
